Partnership Douglas County is proud to team up with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and Carson Valley Medical Center to offer three year-round prescription drop-boxes in Douglas County. Properly disposing of unused, unwanted, or expired medication is an important first step in keeping our community happy and healthy.
Douglas County Sheriff’s Office– 1038 Buckeye Rd, Minden
Open 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office drop-box is on the first floor, near the Records Department. The security staff at the front entrance can also accept any unwanted or expired medication so you don’t have to worry about emptying your pockets or taking off your belt.
Lake Tahoe Law Enforcement Building– 175 Highway 50, Stateline
Open 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Lake Tahoe Substation drop-box can be found on the first floor immediately to the left.
CVMC Emergency Department– 1107 Highway 395 N., Gardnerville
Open 24/7, the Carson Valley Medical Center drop-box can be found in the Emergency Department lobby near the rear entrance of the hospital. Hospital staff are happy to give directions if you aren’t sure where to go.
Needles, liquids, and aerosols cannot be accepted at the drop box locations.
